   A the latchet or eyelets of a sandal, ὕσκλοι· ἀγκύλαι, βρόχοι, οὓς ἡμεῖς ὕσκλους τῶν ὑποδημάτων καὶ τὰς λέγνας τῶν ἱματίων, Hsch.; ὕσκλοι· ἀγκύλοι, Theognost.Can.24; written ὕσχλος in Poll.7.80; τὸ ὕσχλος δασύνεται, ἔστι δὲ τῶν ὑποδημάτων, ὅθεν οἱ ἱμάντες ἐξάπτονται πρὸς τὸ συνέχειν τὸν πόδα, Phryn.PS p.25 B . . hence ἕπτυσχλος, ἐννήϋσκλοι.
