[[haims]] etc. (s. <b class="b3">κώμη</b>) to a supposed <b class="b2">*kōi-</b> [[assemble]], [[range oneself]] (Bezzenberger BB 27, 168); to <b class="b3">κώμυς</b> (Persson Beitr. 1, 160); as [[banquet]] to Lat. [[cibus]] (?; Osthoff Etym. parerga 1, 7). - I suggest that this was a Pre-Greek word.
