Perhaps with Schwyzer 258 to <b class="b3">πελιός</b>, <b class="b3">πέλεια</b> through false restitution of a supposed dissimilated <b class="b3">*πελιστερά</b> (cf. NGr. <b class="b3">πελιστέρι</b>) with oppositive <b class="b3">τερο-</b>suffix (Benveniste Noms d'agent 119 w.
