In Athen sind die ἐξηγηταί die Ausleger des heiligen Rechtes, welche die Reinigung der Blutbefleckten besorgten, die Aufsicht über das Bestatten der Todten u. dgl. hatten; ursprünglich verwalteten das Amt Eupatriden, später drei vom delphischen Orakel bestätigte Männer, vgl.
