Sponge: Ar. and P. σπογγίζειν; see also clean.
Wipe away: Ar. also V. ἀποψῆν, ἐξομοργνύναι (or mid.), Ar. ἀπομόργνυσθαι, V. ἐκμάσσειν; Met., see wipe out.
