A withdraw, retire, (sc. ἐκ τῆς Ἀττικῆς) Hdt.9.13,14; ὑ. τοῦ βίου Pl.Lg.785b: c. dat., retire and give place to another, Id.Phd.103d; ὑ. τῷ θανάτῳ make way for death, and so escape, ib. 106e. 2 to be purged, ἐπὴν φάρμακόν τις πιὼν κάτω καὶ ἄνω ὑπεκχωρέῃ Hp.Loc.Hom.33.
