   A straight-flying (cf. ἰθύς (A) 11):—Zenod. read ἰθυκτίωνα, straight-fibred (fort. -κτείωνα, cf. εὐθυκτέανον, κτηδών).

[Seite 1246] ωνος, nur Il. 21, 169, μελίην ἰθυπτίωνα ἐφῆκε, wahrscheinlich von πέτομαι, πτέσθαι, die geradeaus fliegende eschene Lanze; Andere dachten an πίπτω, grade gehend; Zenodot. las ἰθυκτίωνα, was erklärt wird ἐπ' εὐθείας ἔχουσα τὰς κτεδόνας, τὰς ἐν τοῖς ξύλοις διαφύσεις, gradfaserig. Bei Hesych. hat man ἰθυκέανος oder ἰθυκέαστος, gerade zu spalten.
