   1 Cumae in Italy. ταί θ' ὑπὲρ Κύμας ἁλιερκέες ὄχθαι Σικελία τ αὐτοῦ πιέζει στέρνα λαχνάεντα (sc. Τυφῶνος) (P. 1.18) ὁ Φοίνιξ ὁ Τυρσανῶν τ' ἀλαλατὸς ναυσίστονον ὕβριν ἰδὼν τὰν πρὸ Κύμας (a reference to the battle, in which Hiero defeated the Carthaginian and Etruscan fleet at sea 474/3 B. C.)
