   A look away from other things at, and so simply, look at, πρός or ἔς τι Th.7.71, Luc.DMar.9.2, al.; πόρρωθεν ἀπιδεῖν Timocl. 21.    II look away from, and so, despise, Plu.2.1070f (dub.l.). (In later Greek ἀφ-, ἀφίδω Ep.Phil.2.23.)
