A broad flat cup, Alex.59, prob. in Ostr.Bodl.i318 (ii/i B.C.) ; cf. πέτακνον:—hence πεταχνόομαι, drink from πέταχνα, drink deep, Ar.Fr.288 (ap.Phot., cf. Hsch. s.v. πεταλοῦνται; πεταχνεῦται codd. Ath.).
