A uppermost point, once in Hom., νηῶν . . ἄκρα κόρυμβα high-pointed sterns of ships, Il.9.241 ( = ἄφλαστα, ἀκροστόλια, Hsch., but the meaning was disputed, Ar.Fr.222); νεὼς κόρυμβα A.Pers. 411, cf. E.IA258 (lyr.); ἀφλάστοιο κόρυμβα A.R.2.601; ἄφλαστα καὶ κ. Lyc.295. 2 the top of a hill, φεύγοντες ἐπὶ τοῦ ὄρεος τὸν κ. Hdt. 7.218, cf. D.H.9.23; ἐπ' ἄκρον κ. ὄχθου A.Pers.659 (lyr.).
