Apollon.Lex.; Pl.Min.319b couples ἐ. ὀαριστής taking counsel with Zeus every ninth year.    2 nine years old, of the Aloidae, Od.11.311; βοῦς 10.19 (unless, = πενταέτηρος, ὧρος meaning a season, i.e. half-year, cf. Arist.HA575b6); σίαλοι Od.10.390; ἄλειφαρ Il.18.351. (Perh. = of full age, ἐννέα being taken as a round number, cf.Sch.Il.l. c.)    3 (ὥρα) nine hours long, νύκτες Herod.8.5.
