The comparison with OE [[gealg]] [[sad]], [[dark]] (Holthausen IF 20, 322; WP. 1, 540) is unnecessary. - Whether also the name of the seer [[Κάλχας]] as "the toiler" belongs here (Carnoy Les ét. class. 24, 102), is quite uncertain.
