Perh. cross of [[εἶθαρ]] and [[ἰθύς]] (s. vv.) with assimilation [[ει]] : [[υ]] > [[ευ]] : [[υ]] (Schwyzer 256); [[εὐρύς]] is semantically farther. See Bq.
