ἀμφίᾰλος: -ον, (ἃλς) ὁ ὑπὸ τῆς θαλάσσης περιβαλλόμενος, σύνηθες ἐπίθ. τῆς Ἰθάκης ἐν Ὀδ., ὡς ἐν τῷ Α. 386 καὶ 395· τῆς Λήμνου, Σοφ. Φ. 1464. 2) ἀκολούθως ἐπὶ τῆς Κορίνθου, μεταξὺ δύο θαλασσῶν, τὸ τοῦ Ὁρατίου bimaris Corinthus, Ξεν.
