Perhaps to <b class="b3">σπάω</b> <b class="b2">draw in, suck</b>, of wine etc.; e.g. <b class="b3">ἔσπασεν ἄμυ-στιν ἑλκύσας</b> (E. Kyk. 417); cf. also <b class="b3">σπάσει πίνειν</b> (Arist.). On the <b class="b3">-τ-</b> cf. <b class="b3">σπατίζει</b> ... <b class="b3">ἕλκει</b> H. -- To be rejeceted Neumann Heth. u. luw.
