If it were correct, <b class="b3">ἰαίνω</b> like in <b class="b2">iṣaṇyáti</b> (with <b class="b2">iṣanat</b>; cf. Renou Gramm. de la langue véd. 303) will be a deriv. of an (<b class="b2">r-)n-</b>stemm (cf. Ved. <b class="b2">iṣáṇ-i</b> and Schwyzer 528 n. 8, also <b class="b3">ἱερός</b>), which was based on the primary <b class="b2">íṣ-yati</b>, <b class="b2">iṣ-ṇā́ti</b> <b class="b2">bring in quick movement</b> (with the root-noun <b class="b2">íṣ-</b> [[refreshment]], [[comfort]]).
