A wipe off from, ἐκ δ' ὄμορξον στόματος πέλανον E.Or.219:—Med., wipe off from, purge away a pollution, νασμοῖσι with water, Id.Hipp.653; αἷμα ἐξομόρξασθαι πέπλοις wipe off blood on your garments, Id.HF1399, cf. El.502. II metaph., ἐξομόρξασθαί τινι μωρίαν wipe off one's folly on another, i.e. give him part of it, Id.Ba.344, parodied by Ar.Ach.843. 2 = ἀπομάττομαι, stamp or imprint upon, ἃ ἑκάστη ἡ πρᾶξις αὐτοῦ ἐξωμόρξατο εἰς τὴν ψυχήν Pl.Grg.525a, cf. Lg.775d, prob. in Chaerem.14.15.
