ον, (φεύγω) older and poet. form of φεύξιμος, of places,

   A whither one can flee, or where one can take refuge, ὅθι μοι φάτο φύξιμον εἶναι where she said it was possible for me to escape, Od.5.359; φ. τόπος Plb.13.6.9; φύξιμον οὐδέν Id.9.29.4; ἱερὸν φ. an asylum, Plu.Rom.9; φ. λιμήν a harbour of refuge, Id.2.823a: cf. φύξιον.    II which one can escape; hence, affording a chance of recovery, νοῦσος Hp.Int.2; avoidable, ἦμαρ Max.358.    2 which one would flee from, i. e. loathsome, ὀδμή Simon.250, Nic.Th.54 (s.v.l.).    III c. acc., σ' ἀθανάτων φύξιμος οὐδείς is able to escape thee, S.Ant.788 (lyr.).
