   A = χρυσάωρ, with sword of gold, epith. of Apollo, Il.5.509, 15.256, Pi.P.5.104; also of Demeter, h.Cer.4; of Artemis, Orac. ap. Hdt.8.77; of Orpheus, Pi.Fr.139.9; so χρυσᾱορεύς, έως, of Zeus at Stratonicea, Str.14.2.25, cf. OGI234.24 (Delph., iii B. C.); also χρυσᾱόριος, CIG2720,2721 (Stratonicea): hence χρῡσᾱορεῖς, οἱ, of a league formed by his worshippers, τὸ χρυσαορέων ἔθνος OGIl.c.12, cf. 111.8 (Egypt, ii B. C.); called τὸ χρυσαορικὸν σύστημα, Str.l.c.; cf. St.Byz. s.v. χρῡσᾱορίς.
