A ἔβλῐσα Pl.R.564e:—cut out the comb of bees, take the honey, l.c.; σφηκιὰν β. S.Fr.778: metaph., β. τὸν δῆμον rob the people of their honey, Ar.Eq.794, cf. Lys.475:—Pass., πλεῖστονδὴ . . τοῖς κηρῆσι μέλι βλίττεται prob. in Pl. l.c.; β. τὰ σμήνη the hives have their honey taken, Arist.HA554a15, cf. 627b2. II βλίσσειν· = μαλάσσειν, Erot.Fr.16.
