A = δύσις, setting, mostly in pl., ἀελίου δ. S.OC1245, cf. A.Fr.69, Hp.Epid.7.5, Pl.Phd.61e; ἐπὶ δυσμῇσιν ἐών at the point of setting, Hdt.3.104; περὶ ἡλίου δυσμάς Lys.1.39; ἥλιος ἦν ἤδη περὶ δυσμάς Hell.Oxy.15.5: metaph., τὸ γῆρας δυσμαὶ βίου Arist.Po.1457b25, cf. D.H.4.79, Ph.1.678, S.E.M.9.90, Diog.Oen.2, etc. II the quarter of sunset, west, ἀπὸ ἑσπέρης τε καὶ [ἡλίου] δυσμέων Hdt.2.31; πρὸς ἡλίου δυσμέων Id.7.115, cf. 2.33; πρὸς δυσμαῖς A.Pers.232; opp. ἀνατολαί, BGU1049.8 (iv A.
