   I of persons, send out or forth from, c. gen. loci, ὅπως Πρίαμον..νηῶν ἐκπέμψειε Il.24.681 ; ὅς τίς σε..δώματος ἐκπέμψῃσι Od.18.336, cf. S.El.1128 ; ἐ. ἐκ τῆς πόλεως Isoc.6.78 :—Med., δόμου ἐκπέμψασθε θύραζε Od.20.361,cf.S.Aj.612(lyr.), etc.    2 bring out by calling, call or fetch out, τινὰ ἐκτὸς πυλῶν Id.Ant.19:—so in Med., Id.OT951:—Pass., go forth, depart, Id.OC1664.    3 send forth, dispatch, πρέσβεις, στρατιάς, οἰκήτορας, Th.1.90,141,4.49 ; ἐ. συμπρεσβευτὰς τοὺς ἐχθρούς Arist.Pol.1271a24 ; ἐ. ἀποικίας οἷον σμήνη μελιττῶν Pl.Plt.293d, cf.Arist.Pol.1273b19 :—Pass., τῶν -ομένων καὶ εἰσαγομένων ἐπιστολῶν Aen.Tact.10.6.    4 send away, τινὰ ἐς..
