   A fish, Ev.Jo.21.3; to be a fisher, Plu. Ant.29; fish for, catch, σπάρους dub. l. in Epich.54; λίθους Luc.Pisc. 47: abs., Luc.Herm.65, etc.: metaph. of avenger, ἁλιεύειν τινάς LXX Je.16.16.    II only Med. occurs in Att., Pl.Com.44; Ἁλιευομένη, title of play by Antiph.:—also later, Posidon.68.
