   A disputed at law, liable to be made the subject of a process at law (cf. ἀνεπίδικος), ἐ. τινί ἐστιν ὁ κλῆρος Is.3.3,43, cf. 11.10; μὴ ἐ. εἶναι τὸν κλῆρον D.44.46. Adv. -κως, ἀνυέσθω Petos. ap. Vett.Val.128.27.    II. Subst. ἐπίδικος, ἡ, an heiress for whose hand her next of kin are claimants at law, Is.3.64; ἐ. τινα καταλιπεῖν ib.73.    2. generally, subject to a judicial decision, δίδωμι ἐμαυτὸν ἐπίδικον τοῖς δημόταις I commit myself to the people's decision, D.H.7.58 codd.; disputed, of territory, πρός τινας Plu.Cleom.4; ἐ. νίκη a disputed victory, Id.Fab.3.
