   A ἀμ- Il., v. infr.: pf. ἠμέληκα X. Cyr.1.6.43: (ἀμελής):—have no care for, be neglectful of, in Hom. always c. neg. (not in Od.), οὐδ' ὣς Μενελάου ἐφημοσύνης ἀμέλησεν Il.17.697; οὐκ ἀμέλησε κασιγνήτοιο πεσόντος 8.330; οὐκ ἀμέλησε Πατρόκλοιο πεσόντος he lost not sight of Patroclus [in order to plunder him], 17.9:—after Hom., with and without neg., εἰ τούτων ἀμελήσει Hdt.2.121.γ, cf.
