Schwyzer 622. Benveniste, Or. 1, 98 assumes an acc. sg. n. <b class="b3">-ι</b>. The original meaning <b class="b2">to fit (exactly)</b> is clearly visible. - Agrees exactly with Arm. [[ard]] [[just now]], cf. <b class="b2">ard-a-cin</b> <b class="b2">just born, ἀρτι-γενής</b>. Cf. further Lith. <b class="b2">artì</b> [[nearby]]. Also Lat. [[ars]], [[artis]].- S.
