[[δεϜαλῶσαι]] (BCH 1988, 283f., Mantinea IVa) with hypercorrect F (RPh 71, 1997, 156).<br />Origin: IE [Indo-European] [183]? <b class="b2">*deih₂-</b> [[shine]]<br />Etymology: The glosses <b class="b3">δίαλον φανερόν</b> and <b class="b3">διάλας τὰς δήλας καὶ φανεράς</b> H., dialectical for <b class="b3">δεα-</b>, show that [[δῆλος]] continues <b class="b3">*δέαλος</b> < <b class="b2">*dei̯h₂lo-</b>, cognate with [[δέατο]] < <b class="b2">*dei̯h₂-to</b> (s. v.).
