P. and V. ὀδύρεσθαι, ἀποδύρεσθαι, κλάειν (or mid. in V.), πενθεῖν, θρηνεῖν, ἀποκλάειν (or mid.), δακρύειν, στένειν (Dem. but rare P.), στενάζειν (Dem. but rare P.), Ar. and V. γοᾶσθαι, κωκύειν, οἰμώζειν, ἀποιμώζειν, V. κατοιμώζειν, καταστένειν, ἀναστένειν, ἀνακωκύειν (absol.). ἀνολολύζειν, δύρεσθαι, P. ἀπολοφύρεσθαι, ἀνολοφύρεσθαι; see lament, wail.
