I a seaport town of Phœnicia, distinguished for its excellent wine; as a Roman colony, called Felix Julia, now Beirout, Plin. 5, 20, 17, § 78; Tac. H. 2, 81; Dig. 5, 15, 8; Prisc. Perieg. p. 853.—Hence,
