   A hen, Hp.Int. 27, Nat.Puer.29 (pl.), Epich.152,172, Hecat.58 (pl.):—used by Trag. and Com. acc. to Phryn.207 as generic name, cf. Arist.HA544a32, 614b10, Diocl.Fr.141, Herod.6.100, etc.; Ἀδριαναὶ ἀ., a small kind, Arist.HA558b16.    II = θρὶξ ἡ ἀπὸ τῆς κεφαλῆς τρεφομένη, Hsch., cf. EM59.24.
