Pull up by the roots: P. ἐκπρεμνίζειν, V. ἐκθαμνίζειν. Met., P. and V. ἀναιρεῖν, καθαιρεῖν, V. ἐκτρίβειν, ἐκθαμνίζειν; see destroy. Having all his house utterly rooted out: V. γένους ἅπαντος ῥίζαν ἐξημημένος (ἐξαμᾶν) (Soph., Aj. 1178).
