   A leap, rush upon, of warriors, οὔτασε . . μετάλμενος ὀξέϊ δουρί Il.5.336; οὔτασε δουρὶ μ. 14.443; Τρώεσσι μ. ἐν φόβον ὦρσε 13.362; of a lion, ἥρπαξε μ. 12.305, cf. Hld.10.30.    2 rush after, in a race, οὐκ ἔσθ' ὅς κέ σ' ἕλησι μ. Il.23.345.    II leap from one ship to another in a sea-fight, ἐς ἀλλήλους App.BC5.120; spring from side to side, hither and thither, τᾷ καὶ τᾷ τὸν Ἔρωτα μετάλμενον Bion Fr.10.6, cf. Hld.6.14, Them.Or.22.269c.
