   A grazed by sheep, epith. of pastoral districts, Pi.P.12.2, B.5.66, A.Supp. 548 (lyr.); χώραν μ. ἀνιέναι turn a district into a sheep-walk, i.e. lay it waste, Isoc.14.31, cf. Ph.2.473, D.L.6.87; ἐπηράσατο εἰς ἀεὶ μηλόβοτον εἶναι (sc. τὴν Καρχηδόνα) App.BC1.24, cf.AP9.103 (Mund.): metaph., μ. γυναίοις τὴν ἀρχὴν ἀνῆκεν Philostr.VA5.27, cf.VS1.21.4.
