A mouldy, dank, οἰκία . . εὐρώεντα, of the nether world, Il.20.65; εἰς Ἀΐδεω δόμον εὐρώεντα Od.10.512,23.322, cf. Hes.Op.153; πείρατα, of Tartarus, Id.Th.739; εὐρώεντα κέλευθα Od. 24.10; ὑπὸ ζόφῳ εὐρώεντι h.Cer.482; τάφον εὐρώεντα S.Aj.1167 (anap.); later, dank, slimy, ἰλύς, πηλός, Opp.H.1.781, 2.89.
