A come up, rise, esp. from the sea, c. gen., ἀνέδυ πολιῆς ἁλὸς ἠΰτ' ὀμίχλη Il.1.359; ἀνεδύσατο λίμνης Od.5.337: c. acc., ἀνεδύσετο κῦμα θαλάσσης Il.1.496: abs., εἴπερ ἀναδύσει πάλιν Ar.Ra.1460; Ἀφροδίτη ἀναδυομένη, a famous picture by Apelles, Str.14.2.19, Plin.HN35.91, cf.
