From Latin all European forms (s. W.-Hofmann 2, 205f.). On itself Arm. [[ewɫ]] [[oil]], which comes together with <b class="b3">ἐλαία</b>, <b class="b3">ἔλαιον</b> from a Mediterranaean source (Crete?, s. W.-Hofmann s. v.).
