A give room to do a thing, allow, ὁ χρὁνος οὐκ ἐγχωρεῖ, c. inf., Lys.26.6, X.Eq.12.13: abs., ὅσον ἐνεχώρεε ἡ δεκάτη so far as the money allowed her to go, Hdt.2.135; ἂν ἐγχωρῇ τὸ ὕδωρ (i.e. the water-clock), D.44.45. b c. acc., admit of, κλίσιν Arr.Tact. 11.4. 2 ἐγχωρεῖ, impers., there is time, it is possible or allowable, c. dat. pers. et inf., ἐ. αὐτῷ εἰδέναι Antipho 1.7, cf. 5.90, Pl.
