(in med. form) X.Eq.Mag.2.7 : pf. -ηγόρευμαι Id.Mem.1.2.[35]:—tell beforehand, τι Th.1.68: c. inf., declare beforehand that . ., Hdt.1.74,91; π. ὅτι . . Th.2.13, X.Cyr.3.1.3; ὡς .. ib.7.5.34; advise beforehand, πολλοῖς π. τὰ μὲν ποιεῖν τὰ δὲ μὴ ποιεῖν Id.Mem.1.1.4, cf. Pl.Lg.907d. 2 foretell, prophesy, τὸ μέλλον X.Smp.4.5.
