One may have been influenced by [[ἔρκος]] (s.v.). There is also <b class="b3">ἑρκάνη</b>, <b class="b3">ὁρκάνη</b>. Latte corrects <b class="b3">ἑρκάτη</b> in <b class="b3">ἑρκάνη</b>, which is in any case too uncertain.
