The nearest example of <b class="b3">πέμφιξ</b> is not recognisable (<b class="b3">μάστιξ</b> and <b class="b3">τέττιξ</b> are too far off; Chantraine Form. 397); the hapax <b class="b3">πεμφίς</b> after the many words in <b class="b3">-ιδ-</b> (cf. Fraenkel Nom. ag. 2, 201 n. 2; to far-going Specht Ursprung 212 a. 228).
