The starting point may have been the aorist <b class="b3">μύξαι</b>, <b class="b3">μύξασ-θαι</b>, to which, perh. through <b class="b3">*μύχθος</b> (s. above), the present <b class="b3">μυχθίζω</b> was formed, perh. after <b class="b3">βρόξαι</b> (: <b class="b3">βρόχθος</b>) : <b class="b3">βροχθίζω</b>. - I wonder whether <b class="b3">μυχθ-</b> is Pre-Greek (not in Fur.).
