The present <b class="b3">κρέκω</b> is isolated; Germanic has several nouns, that point to such a primary verb: OWNo. [[hræll]] m. (< PGm. <b class="b2">*hráhilaz</b>; would be Gr. <b class="b3">*κρόκιλος</b>) <b class="b2">staff to fasten the cloth</b>, OE [[hrēol]] (< PGm. <b class="b2">*hréhulaz</b>) [[reel]], NEngl. [[reel]]; with grammatical change OE [[hrægl]] n. [[cloth]], [[garment]], OHG [[hregil]] n. [[indument]], [[spolium]]. Also several Balto-Slavic words have been compared: Lith. <b class="b2">krẽkles</b> [[zerlumpte Kleider]], [[tatters]], Latv. <b class="b2">krękls</b> [[shirt]]; Slavic expressions for <b class="b2">strike fire etc.</b>, e. g.
