Schwyzer 479 f.). With <b class="b3">μητρυιά</b> (prob. for older <b class="b3">*μήτρυια</b>, gen. <b class="b3">-υιᾶς</b>; Wackernagel KZ 33, 574 [= Kl. Schr. 2, 1207] n. l, Schwyzer 469 w. n. 8) cf. the close Armenian form [[mawru]], gen. A hypothesis on the origin (after the old word for <b class="b2">mother-in-law</b>, Lat.
