He calls the gloss "völlig unklar", but it is clearly the useless parts of a sheep(skin) (also the meanings [[anus]] or [[membrum virile]] (for [[ποδεών]])). A Pre-Gr. word seems probable (e.g. <b class="b2">*arg-aly-ap-</b> or <b class="b2">-apʷ-</b>?). | ||
