|Definition=ον, in Hom. as epith. of ear-rings, <span class="sense">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<span class="bld">A</span> ἕρματα τρίγληνα <span class="bibl">Il. 14.183</span>, <span class="bibl">Od.18.298</span>: ancient critics (cf. Sch. ad loc.) expld. it (<span class="bibl">1</span>) from [[γλήνεα]] (<span class="bibl">Il.24.192</span>), = [[ἀξιοθέατα]], or (<span class="bibl">2</span>) = [[τρίκοκκα]], i. e. with three berry-shaped ornaments, or (<span class="bibl">3</span>) = [[ἐκ τριῶν ζῳδίων συγκείμενα]], or (<span class="bibl">4</span>) = [[τριόφθαλμα]], like Att. [[τριοττίδες]]; and in other ways. It is prob. formed from [[γλήνη]] as [[τρίκλινος]] fr.
