[[Charicles]] (Greek: [[Χαρικλῆς]]), son of Apollodorus, was an ancient Athenian politician, notorious for his role as one of the Thirty Tyrants. His actual role within the Thirty may have been somewhat overestimated by modern scholars, due to his brief mention by Aristotle (Politics 1305b26) and by Xenophon (Memorabilia 1.2.31-37) and the lack of other details about the power-structure of that oligarchy. Xenophon describes Charicles and Critias as seeking to intimidate Socrates by forbidding him, without success, from speaking to men under 30 years of age. | |wketx=[[Charicles]] (Greek: [[Χαρικλῆς]]), son of Apollodorus, was an ancient Athenian politician, notorious for his role as one of the Thirty Tyrants.
