A drawn along, towed, of a ship (cf. ὁλκάς), Nic.Th.268 : hence, trailing, dragging, σειρή, of a serpent, ib.119 ; ἀτραπός ib.160 ; κακά Lyc.216. II as Subst. ὁλκαία, Ion. ὁλκαίη, ἡ, tail, because it is trailed along, Nic. Th.123, 225, A.R.4.1614 (v.l. ἀλκαία, which Schn. writes in Nic. ll. cc.).
