A glut oneself, take a surfeit, and so perh. in Sapph.Supp.2.7; but usu., feel loathing or nausea, caused by surfeit, ἀσᾶται Hp.Morb.Sacr.25, Int.35; of pregnant women, Arist.HA584a22: metaph., to be disgusted or vexed at a thing, c.dat., μηδὲν ἄγαν χαλεποῖσιν ἀσῶ φρένα Thgn.657, cf. 593; ὅταν δέ τι θυμὸν ἀσηθῇς Id.989; ἄσαιο Sapph. l. c.; ἐδίζητο ἐπ' ᾧ ἂν μάλιστα τὴν ψυχὴν ἀσηθείη Hdt.3.41; ἀσώμενος ἐν φρεσί Theoc.25.240; Aeol. ἀσάμενοι [σᾱ] disgusted, Alc.35.—Never in good Att.; in later Prose, πολλὰ ἀσώμενοι καὶ ἀδημονοῦντες Ph.Fr.74 H.
