Apollon.Lex. s.v. πόρδαλις) πόρδαλις was the male, πάρδαλις the female, cf. Hsch. ; but πόρδαλις was used of the animal, παρδαλέη of its skin, acc. to EM652.38, Phot. ; Aristarch. wrote πάρδ- in Hom. ; Ar. has πάρδ- Nu. l. c., but πόρδ- Lys. 1015 ; πάρδ- is found in Pl.
